Chromoly Steel Tubing (4130 / 4140)
Chromoly steel tubing is seamless chromium-molybdenum alloy tube, most commonly 4130 (AISI 4130 / 30CrMo) and 4140 (42CrMo). It combines high tensile strength with good weldability, which makes it the standard choice for motorsport, aircraft and high-stress mechanical parts.

4130 vs 4140
4130 is the more weldable, general-purpose chromoly; 4140 has higher carbon and hardens deeper, used where more strength is needed. Tell us the drawing and we will quote the right grade.
