Copper Coated Steel Tube (Single Wall, Welded)
Copper coated steel tube is a single-wall, low-carbon steel tube that is roll-formed from copper coated steel strip and electric-resistance welded (ERW). The copper coating is on the strip surface before forming, so the finished tube is copper coated on the surface while the longitudinal weld remains steel — there is no copper at the weld seam. This is different from a double-wall, copper-brazed “Bundy” tube, where copper is used to braze the overlapping wall.
Price: quoted per specification. Steel and copper prices follow the raw-material market, so each price is confirmed at the time of order.

Single wall vs double wall brazed
Single-wall copper coated tube is welded with no copper at the seam, which keeps the cost down for high-volume fluid lines and refrigeration circuits. Double-wall copper-brazed tube uses copper to seal an overlapping wall and is a different construction. Tell us which one your drawing calls for and we will quote the correct product.
Forming and joining
The soft, copper coated surface suits controlled bending and double-flare or braze joining. Each coil is tested for chemistry, dimensions, surface and weld integrity, then strapped and wrapped for export.
